UH Mānoa Formal Reporting Offices

The University encourages victims to talk to somebody about what happened – so victims can get the support they need, and so the University can respond appropriately.

The University has a responsibility to provide a safe and nondiscriminatory environment for all students, and must take this responsibility into consideration when the University is put on notice of an allegation. Thus, while the University will take into consideration requests for confidentiality, the University cannot guarantee that it can maintain confidentiality when the University has notice of an allegation.

Before revealing any information, please make sure you understand the reporting obligations if the person you are speaking with. Most employees are required to report all the details of an incident (including the identities of both the victim and alleged perpetrator) to the Title IX coordinator. Any information shared with responsible employees will place the University on notice.

If you need more time to think through the situation, there are confidential resources available to assist you.

Please be aware that a criminal investigation is separate and distinct from UH Mānoa’s institutional response. You may choose both, one, or neither of these options, depending on your individual decision. These options are available simultaneously, and The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa will cooperate with law enforcement agencies if a criminal investigation occurs.

Information shared with the contacts below will put UHM on notice of an allegation.
