Research Opportunity at Washington University
The Genome Institute at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri has an Opportunities in Genomics Research (OGR). The OGR programs are directed to increasing the number of underrepresented students who pursue Ph.D.’s in genomics and related fields. OGR provides students with a mentored research experience at Washington University, as well as other engaging activities to prepare students for application to competitive Ph.D. programs.
They have two OGR programs that may be of interest:
- Undergraduate Scholars, an eight week summer program
- Extensive Study, a one year post-baccalaureate program
Both programs include conducting research with premier investigators in genomics and genetics as well as disciplines such as: cancer biology, molecular biology, immunology, and others. Supplemental activities for both programs include: GRE preparation, journal club, seminars and career counseling and workshops.
