UH School of Social Work Summer Forum Presents "Compassion in Dying"

HONOLULU — The UH School of Social Work and its Alumni and Friends Chapter culminate their Summer Forum with "Compassion in Dying" featuring Roland Halpern, executive director of the Compassion in Dying Federation in Portland, Oregon. The free public program will be held on Wednesday, July 28, at 1 p.m. in the UH Mānoa Korean Studies Auditorium.

Halpern will address a variety of end-of-life topics, from the controversial issues surrounding physician-assisted dying to the need for better pain management for those experiencing a serious or chronic illness.

The summer forum program is sponsored as a university and community service by the
UH School of Social Work and its Alumni and Friends Chapter to call attention to vulnerable life stages and conditions that call for greater public awareness and constructive policy formulation.
