The Shidler College of Business School of Accountancy at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa will offer two FREE accounting programs — CPA Review Program and Governmental Accounting Program — starting this August.

The CPA Review Program will offer a series of courses for accounting professionals who are registered to take the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. The courses will be offered in September 2015 and in January, March and June of 2016, on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. The CPA Review Program includes courses in financial accounting and reporting, business environment and concepts, regulation, and auditing and attestation.

The Governmental Accounting Program will provide continuing education classes on topics including governmental structure, budgeting, auditing, financial management and ethics. The program will be offered throughout August on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Shidler College of Business.

“There’s a real need in Hawai‘i to help accounting professionals earn and maintain their CPA certification,” says School of Accountancy Director Hamid Pourjalali, who is the Donald A. Corbin Distinguished Professor of Accounting. “With the support of the School of Accountancy Advisory Board and our faculty, we are pleased to offer the CPA Review and the Governmental Accounting Programs free to participants.”
