UH Mānoa’s Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs has initiated the formal search process for the regular appointment of two executive positions:  Dean of the School of Architecture and Dean of the School of Travel Industry Management.

Both positions are currently being led by interim appointments.  These two searches reflect UH Mānoa’s continuing commitment and efforts to move the University forward in the hiring of deans and directors.

Said Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Reed Dasenbrock, “Architecture and Travel Industry Management are both distinctive schools that play a crucial role in the state's economy and culture. When these searches are completed by the end of the academic year, academic units at Mānoa will have strong permanent leadership across the board."

V. Vance Roley, Dean of the Shidler College of Business, will chair the Architecture Search Advisory Committee, and College of Education Dean Donald Young will chair the Travel Industry Management Search Advisory Committee.  The two committees will recommend finalists to Chancellor Tom Apple and Vice Chancellor Dasenbrock.  Committee members include chairs, faculty, staff and students from the respective units, as well as representatives of the Kualiˈi Council and UH Alumni Association/community.

For the two job announcements, position descriptions and Search Advisory Committee members, please visit http://www.manoa.hawaii.edu/executivesearch for additional information.  Review of applications will begin in the late Fall 2013 semester and will continue until the positions are filled.
