On March 20, 2013, the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) released The Changing Teacher Preparation Profession: A Report from AACTE's Professional Education Data System (PEDS) at a National Press Club briefing in Washington, D.C. The report showcases the quality of teacher preparation programs and reduces misperceptions about today's teacher education.

The College of Education (COE) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa participates in the PEDS data collection each year.

“We are very excited about this first annual data-based report on teacher education programs across the country. The COE programs align closely with the quality evidenced by the report,” said Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Beth Pateman.
