The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo Performing Arts Center presents the 7th Annual Girls’ Day Diva Festival featuring Craig A Meyer – Almost Elton John and opening act Harmony on Tap – HOT on Thursday, March 3, beginning at 5 p.m.

Harmony on Tap – HOT opens at 6:30 p.m. followed by Craig A. Meyer Almost Elton John in a musical journey celebrating the decades of chart-topping hits of Sir Elton John beginning at 7 p.m.

Throughout Meyer’s career, he has been repeatedly approached about his striking resemblance to Elton John and his uncanny ability to sound like the rock-and-roll legend. Today, Meyer is considered to be one of the best Elton John tribute artists in the market. The show is a celebration of the character, costumes and charisma of the famed pianist and singer.

“Before the music begins, there will be food samplings generously donated by local businesses starting at 5 p.m.,” said Jan Higashi, event chair. “There will be a variety of tasty treats from Abundant Life Natural Foods, Big Island Delights, Crivello’s Place, Hilo Bay Café, Kawamoto Store, Ken’s House of Pancakes, Millie’s Deli & Snack Shop, Ponds Hilo, Restaurant Encore, Kuhio Grille and Sodexo."

“Participants will also enjoy a silent auction and door prizes, with items donated by women owned/operated businesses,” Higashi added.

The Girls’ Day Diva Festival is supported by sponsorship from local businesses at two levels: ‘Super Stars’: Business Services Hawaiʻi, Creative Arts Hawaiʻi, GW Construction, Hawaiʻi Forklift, Hirayama Brothers Electric, Ken’s House of Pancakes, Naniloa Volcanoes Resort, and ‘Shining Star’: Ginoza Realty, Inc. The proceeds of the event benefit the UH Hilo Performing Arts Center Scholarship Fund and the Performing Arts Center’s programs.
