The Japanese National Honor Society recently inducted nine UH Mānoa Japanese language BA majors, one-third of this semester’s College of Languages, Linguistics, and Literature graduating class. The Japanese National Honor Society – College Chapter (JNHS-CC) recognizes and encourages scholastic achievement and excellence in the study of the Japanese language.

The nine JNHS inductees are: Matthew Groover, Matias Hansen, Benajamin Hood, Meaghan Nagaji, Lauren Ono, Carolyn Peterson, Arlyn Ramos, Joseph Ryan, and Risa Shima.

Academic criteria for student membership in JNHS–CC includes the completion of five semester- or seven quarter- courses of Japanese language study (or the equivalent) at the college undergraduate level; a GPA of 3.5 in Japanese language courses; and an overall GPA of 3.0.
