UH Mānoa’s SLS Department celebrates 40 years of academic success

The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s Department of Second Language Studies (SLS, formerly known as ESL) invites all alumni, students and friends to its first reunion in celebration of the department’s 40th anniversary, and its international preeminence in the field of learning and teaching languages.
RSVP to Barbara Cooney at bcooney@hawaii.edu with name, year of graduation, degree and number of guests. Admission is $30 per person, $15 for current SLS students.
All alumni (whether attending reunion or not) are encouraged to email photos spanning the 40 years of the SLS/ELS Department’s existence, as well as messages, to Joel Weaver at joelw@hawaii.edu for a slideshow presentation.
Auction items and services are also being accepted by the SLS Student Association. Proceeds will benefit the Craig Chaudron Memorial Fund, which will support student research.
