UH Mānoa offers practice exams on September 12

The University of Hawai`i at Mānoa’s Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP), in partnership with Kaplan Testing and Admissions Services, will offer practice SAT, PSAT and ACT exams for students in grades 9-12 on Saturday, September 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the UH Mānoa Shidler College of Business.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with testing to start at 9.  To register, email the student’s first and last name, school, grade level, email address and contact phone number to hcop@hawaii.edu. Please indicate which test the student will take.  Deadline to register is Tuesday, September 8.         
A donation of $5, to cover the cost of testing materials, will be accepted at the door. Checks may be made payable to Friends of Operation Manong.
On the same day, there will be a free informational workshop for parents and family members on the topic of college admissions and entrance tests. They will be able to tour the UH Mānoa campus and visit student dorms.

Practice test scores, which are unofficial and therefore will not be recorded, will be available the following Saturday, September 19, 2009, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the UH Mānoa Shidler College of Business courtyard. Participants will have an opportunity to meet with Kaplan advisors to review their results, and learn how to improve their exam scores. 
On-campus parking costs $5.
