Three candidates for the position of Dean of the School of Travel Industry Management will visit the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa campus during mid-February and early March for interviews and meetings.

The three candidates are:

  • Ron Nykiel, who will be on campus Thursday and Friday, February 19-20. Nykiel is the Conrad N. Hilton Distinguished Chair and an associate professor at the University of Houston‘s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management in Texas.
  • Marion Joppe, who will be visiting Monday and Tuesday, March 2-3. Joppe is the University Research Chair in Tourism at the University of Guelph‘s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management in Ontario, Canada.
  • Richard Perdue, who will be on campus Wednesday and Thursday, March 4-5. Perdue is the department head and professor at Virginia Tech‘s Pamplin School of Business‘ Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management in Blacksburg, Virginia.
A public presentation by each candidate will be held at 4 p.m. on the first day of each person‘s visit in the School of Architecture auditorium, room 205.
