UH Manoa announces candidates for Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

HONOLULU — Four candidates for the UH Mānoa Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs post will be on campus during the period January 22-February 1 for interviews and public meetings.

"The search committee has identified an exciting group of excellent candidates for leadership in academic affairs," said UH Mānoa Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw. "It is important that the campus community, especially our students, have an opportunity to meet these folks and then share their thoughts with me. I hope everyone will take advantage of the scheduled forums to hear what they have to say so that we can recruit a great person for this critical position."

The candidates and dates for meetings at Mānoa are:
· Susan Bryant — Professor of Development and Cell Biology in the School of Biological Sciences, and Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of California, Irvine — On campus January 22-23; public presentation forum Tuesday, January 22

· Jim Staros — Professor, Department of Biochemistry & Cell Biology and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, SUNY Stony Brook University, New York — On campus January 24-25; public presentation forum Thursday, January 24

· Peter Quigley — Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa — On campus January 28-29; public presentation forum Monday, January 28

· Diane Ullman — Associate Dean for Undergraduate Academic Programs, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and Professor of Entomology, University of California, Davis — On campus January 31-February 1; public presentation forum Thursday, January 31

All public presentations will be at 4 p.m. in the Architecture Auditorium, Room 205, on the dates indicated above.
