HONOLULU — Graduating high school seniors age 18 and University of Hawaiʻi students are invited to apply for an exciting summer study abroad program in the South of France, presented by Kapiʻolani Community College (KCC) and offered through Cultural Experiences Abroad (CEA).

The one-month program in July in Aix-en-Provence, France, includes an intensive French language course for beginner and intermediate French language students, excursions, cultural and social activities, and a KCC cuisine activity with a local French chef.

Students will earn 6-8 credits studying French while immersed in the culture. Housing is provided in an apartment or in a family homestay setting. Students will participate in two excursions in the area with students in other CEA programs and will be accompanied and tutored by KCC faculty.

In order to participate in the study abroad program, students must have completed high school, be accepted into one of the University of Hawaiʻi‘s 10 campuses, and have a current minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Program dates are June 28 — July 29, 2006, with a tentative departure date from Honolulu of June 26, 2006.

The deadline to apply for the program is March 10, 2006. For more information, contact Renée Arnold at 734-9704 or visit www.kcc.hawaii.edu/page/studyinfrance .
