“UH on Call” debuts October 4 on PBS Hawai‘i

HONOLULU — Obesity, diabetes, cancer research, infectious disease and geriatric concerns are just a few of the subjects that will be the focus of a new TV talk show called "UH On Call." The 13-part series hosted by Dr. Kalani Brady, is a collaborative effort between the University of Hawaiʻi, PBS Hawaiʻi and HMSA.

The show which addresses a wide range of medical issues of interest to the general public, debuts on October 4 on PBS Hawaiʻi (KHET, Channel 11) and will air Tuesday nights at 7:30 p.m. and again on Sundays at 3:30 p.m. through December 27.

Experts from the University of Hawaiʻi and the state‘s medical community will share their knowledge about issues that are critically important to the health of everyone in the Islands. The talk show will also feature reports on the latest scientific and medical findings, how the workforce of the industry has addressed the health concerns of those within the state, and stories about new health related technologies and treatments.

The program host, Dr. Kalani Brady is best known as the doctor on KHON2‘s "Ask The Specialist," and has been a part of the station‘s news team for more than ten years. As a UH associate professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Native Hawaiian Health, Dr. Brady often flies to Kalaupapa on Molokai to assist the residents of that community.
