Assessment Office
We support quality student learning and promote excellence in educational practices. We collaborate with the campus community to establish meaningful, manageable, and sustainable assessment. Our emphasis is on program- and institutional-level assessment.
We
- Serve as an assessment resource to the university community. We are a central location that communicates, consults, shares, and educates on how to assess, what to assess, and how to act on the results.
- Actively participate in program- and institutional-level assessment planning, implementing, analyzing, summarizing results, and making evidence-based decisions.
- Conduct research to help programs understand the effectiveness of various delivery methods on student learning.
- Partner with the Office of Faculty Development and Academic Support, Student Affairs, and other offices to align results from all assessment activities across campus.
- Distribute assessment findings to internal and external audiences.
- Encourage scholarship on teaching and learning.
- Explore new technologies to support outcomes assessment.
Programs use results for decision making and to guide program improvement. Assessment reports detail the status of assessment efforts and explain how results have been used.
