Dr. Benjamin Brooks receives the Regents Medal for Excellence in Research

Dr. Benjamin Brooks, Associate Researcher at the Hawaiʻi Institute of Geophysics and Planetology, received a 2008 University of Hawaiʻi Regents' Medal for Excellence in Research.

  Awarded by the UH Board of Regents, the medal recognizes scholarly contributions that expand and enrich students' boundaries of knowledge.

  Dr. Brooks's work includes studies of slow earthquakes on the Big Island, geodetic analysis of tectonics in South America, and contributions to the ocean observing system.
